Shakespeare & Friends is open to all theater lovers. Whether you’re an actor, designer, technician, playwright or just have an interest in authentic performances, we have a place for you. We strive for region-leading excellence in all productions, but no prior experience is necessary to be a part of the fun.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Feel free to reach out at anytime for additional information or to express your interest in a future role or project.

  • Note that directors frequently cast their projects independently.

  • We are a non-professional, non-union theater. Stipends, if available, are offered on a per-production bases, and will be made clear by your director and production manager before beginning rehearsals. We are committed to equity and transparency.

  • Theater should be accessible to all; discrimination of any kind has no place in our art form. Shakespeare & Friends is committed to building a community of inclusion, diverse stories and viewpoints, and radical authenticity.

It’s not an audition! Join us for an opportunity to get to know Shakespeare & Friends, “try on” different production and performance roles, and warm up with fun improv exercises.

For more experienced actors, stick around for our informal workshop session. Is there a scene you’ve always wanted to try? Or a perfect monologue you’ve been working on but just haven’t found the right audition to unleash? Now’s your chance? Sign up and let us know what you’ve got up your sleeves. We’ll pair you up with like-minded performers and give you the chance to shine.

Note: This is not an audition for specific roles or productions, but Shakespeare & Friends directors and other theater professionals will be on hand to build our base of talent for all future shows.
